Employee Setup

The Employee Setup screen consists of four tabs: Name and Address, Payroll Info., Items and Misc. Click on one of these options to view help for the corresponding tab.

Misc. Tab

This screen contains Miscellaneous information about this employee.

Date 1, Date 2 - These fields are optional and can be used for user-defined processing. For example, the date the employee starts the pension plan.

Number 1, Number 2 - These fields are optional and can be used for user-defined processing. For example a reminder of number of supplies checked out or previous rate of pay.

Notes - Are used for internal notes about this employee. These notes will not appear on reports.

Message - Are used to specify a message that will appear on the employee's pay stub. This is normally used to describe items on the pay statement but can be used for any comments or requests such as "Happy Birthday" or "Don't forget you're working the night shift next week". Note that for this message to appear, a calculation needs to be run. This message will appear on all future printing or viewing of the pay statement for the period which it was added.

Clear On Close- When checked the Message explained above will be deleted after the pay is closed and will not appear on future pay statements. This does not delete any previous pay messages. If you want the same message to continually appear uncheck this box.

Arrears - Arrears occur when an employee does not have enough income to cover their deduction. For example, if the employee did not work in this pay period and a pension deduction was due, the employee would go into Arrears. The next payroll the arrears will automatically be deducted from the employee's pay. This field can be modified to adjust the employee's arrears.


New - Opens the New Employee dialog box so you can add a new employee.

Save - Saves the current changes. Note: If you do not Save your changes, they will be discarded when you leave this screen.

Delete - Deletes the current employee.

Cancel - This button discards any changes you have made and restores the page to the last saved state.

Test - This button opens the Test Calculation dialog box so you can test the pay calculation.

Help - Opens this help page.
