Earnings

This screen allows you to setup the various types of earnings that will be used for this payroll. An unlimited number of earnings can be defined. Carefully analyze your payroll requirements to determine what earnings you require; such as Salary, Commissions, Bonus, Regular Hours, Over Time, Shift Premiums, etc.

Earnings - This list displays the earnings that are defined for this payroll. When an earning is selected, its information is displayed in the fields to the right of the list.

Earnings can be added to this list by clicking on the New button. See the New Earning help topic for more information.

Earning Information

This area allows you to add, change or delete information about the current earning.

Name - This field displays the name of the currently selected earning. You can change this name by making the desired modification, then choosing the Save button.

Short Name - Enter an abbreviated name for the earning. The short name will be used when space restrictions are limited for displaying or printing. For example, on the pay stub.

Alternate Name - Enter an alternate name for the earning. The alternate name can be used for the program's Alternate Language feature (e.g. to display the earning name in the appropriate language of each employee).

Short Alt. Name - Enter the short version for the alternate earning name. The short name will be used when space restrictions are limited for displaying or printing.

Status

Enabled - Activates the earning for use with this payroll.

Disable - Deactivates the earning. Choosing this option will prevent the earning from being used in this payroll.

Type

Salary - "Salary" types of earnings are used when you pay a set amount per pay period (e.g. salary, commisions, bonus).

Hourly - "Hourly" types of earnings are used when you require a rate multiplied by units to calculate the payment, (e.g. Hourly Rate multiplied by hours worked, Miles multiplied by a rate per mile).

Calculated
Use these options to specify how the rate is to be determined.

Individually - A rate or amount will be entered for each individual employee.

As Fixed Amount - A rate or amount will be fixed for all employees (e.g. mileage set at $0.37 per kilometer for all employees).

As Rate of - The rate or amount will be calculated based on another rate or amount (e.g. overtime at 1.5 times regular time).

Subject To
Specify how eNETPayroll should treat the earnings for statutory deduction calculations. Check one or more boxes to activate the corresponding option. In most cases, all of these checkboxes are activated.

Tax - The earning will be subject to Federal Income Tax calculations.

QTax - The earning will be subject to the province of Quebec Income Tax calculations.

CPP/QPP - The earning will be subject to Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) calculations.

E.I. - The earning will be subject to the Employment Insurance (E.I.) calculations.

E.I. Hours - The hours will be accumulated for Record Of Employment (ROE) purposes.

WCB - The earnings are subject to Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) calculations.

T4/T4A Box - Specify the corresponding box (on the employee's T4) in which this earning will appear.


New - Opens the New Earning dialog box so you can add a new earning.

Save - Saves the current settings. Note: If you do not Save your changes, they will be discarded when you leave this screen.

Delete - Deletes the selected earning.

Cancel - Cancels the changes and reloads previous information.

Help - Opens this help page.
