Q
and A:
Q: Is eNETPayroll for me?
A: eNETPayroll will
calculate simple to complex payrolls. It's a fast and economical pay per
use service. You never have to worry about software updates or changes
to government regulations, the program will always be current.
- If you're currently
outsourcing your payroll, eNETPayroll will perform all the same
functions at a fraction of the cost. With eNETPayroll you do not have
any additional deadlines to meet. You have the freedom to calculate
your pay anytime, even on pay day or at midnight. With eNETPayroll you
make your own remittance to Receiver General, freeing up your capital
and reducing your cost if you are in an overdraft situation. You can
also view all your final results prior to closing or finalizing the
payroll. This eliminates all those errors!
- If you are a
multi-branch organization, with branches across the country, each
branch can logon to the system through their Internet connection. You
can restrict access with the eNETPayroll "group" feature so that each
branch will only have access to their employee information. The branch
will be able to perform whatever function they have been assigned by
the head office such as adding employees, entering hours, changing rates,
etc. At a predefined time the head office can go ahead and check results,
calculate etc.
- If you have
1 to 100 employees, eNETPayroll will be to your advantage. You'll
have the advantage of using comprehensive software, without the purchase
cost or worrying about updates. You have the convenience of calculating
your payroll at a time that's convenient to you (no deadlines). The
accuracy of your payroll will increase because you can view the results
of your calculation before finalizing.
If you have over 100
employees at one location, it may be more economical to contact CanPay
Computer Software and purchase one of their dedicated payroll software
solutions. eNETPayroll's cost per cheque (.75) times the number of employees
(100), times the number of pay periods per year will exceed the annual
cost of their software.
If you are a large
multi-branch company you may want to contact us about purchasing our software
and running it on your own Intranet, LAN, or WAN.
Q: What are the
features of eNETPayroll?
A: Here are just a
few of the features of eNETPayroll:
- Unlimited number
of employees.
- Unlimited
number of types of earnings such as salary, commission, bonus, regular
hours, overtime, vacation pay, etc. These aren't predefined so you have
the flexability to set them up the way that is most convenient for you.
You also define how you want the system to handle each earning type.
For example: is this earning taxable, subject to CPP or E.I and what
T4 box should this earning appear.
- Unlimited number
of deductions and benefits such as pension, group insurance, life, medical,
etc. Deductions are subtracted from the employees earnings and benefits
represent the companies contribution to the plan. For example, you could
have a pension were the employee is deducted 5% of their gross pay and
the company matches the deduction. The company share or benefit could
be taxable and subject to CPP, etc. You may also want the benefit expensed
to all the areas an employee works.
- Unlimited number
of accumulators. Accumulators are used to make automatic calculations
on employees pay. Most common being calculation of vacation pay, banked
time, seniority time, sick time, etc.
- Unlimited number
of Revenue Canada accounts for different E.I. rates.
- Calculation frequencies
include weekly(52), weekly(53), bi-weekly(26), bi-weekly(27), semi-monthly,
monthly, 10 payments per year, semi-annually.
- Unlimited users
can be assigned to the payroll. Each user can be assigned rights to
control access and functions that can be performed by each user. Each
employees online access can be limited to their payroll information
only.
- Groups are used
to restrict access to individual employees by a user. You can setup
one user to be responsible for a certain group of employees.
- Workers Compensation
Board (WCB) can be calculated and the cost distributed for each province
or territory.
- Provincial Health
can be calculated and the cost distributed for provincial health and
education tax.
- Distribution of
and employees pay and benefits to any number of locations in a pay period.
The journal entry will summarize all this information for you.
- Direct Deposit
(Electronic Funds Transfer -EFT): one employees net pay can be allocated
to up to 3 different bank accounts. For example the employee would like
$400.00 deposited in their mortgage account, $100.50 in their savings
account and balance in chequing account. The funds can be transfered
to the bank either through eNETPayroll facilities or saved on the users
machine for transfer to the bank.
- If an employees
e-mail account is added to the system, eNETPayroll will email them their
pay stub rather than print it.
Q: What are the
system requirements?
A: The only requirement
is that you have a Java capable browser. New versions of Netscape and
Internet Explorer are both Java capable. You also need Sun Microsystems
Java plug-in, which you will be prompted to download when you first access
the Log In or Trial Login pages.
Q: What Internet
browser do I have to use?
A: You are required
to use an Internet browser that is Java capable. Newer versions of Netscape
and Internet Explorer will work. Other Internet browsers have not yet
been fully tested but should work if they are capable of running Java
applets.
Q: How am I charged
for this service?
A: The service cost
for eNETPayroll is a fee-per-cheque issued. This means that you pay only
for the employee cheques issued per payroll cycle. No sign up fees, no
extra monthly costs, no employee minimums, no hidden costs -- ever! CPS
can charge either your credit card or directly debit your company's bank
account -- you decide. Click
Here for specific pricing information.
Q: Can this system
print cheques?
A: YES, eNETPayroll's
applets are digitally signed using digital certificates. This allows them
to be output to your printing device.
Q: Can this system
perform electronic fund transfers (EFT)?
A: YES, there are
two methods for transfering an employees pay directly into their bank
account.
Method 1
- Arrangements can be made with the desired bank to accept your EFT
file. When the payroll is calculated, rather then printing a cheque,
an EFT file is generated on the users computer. The user then forwards
this file to the intented bank. The bank then forwards the funds to
the individual employee accounts and debits the companies bank account.
There is no float involved, the funds are deposited on pay day and the
employer's account is debited on pay day. This file must be in the banks
hands 3 days prior to payroll to facilitate transfer to other banks.
The fee charged by the banks for their services is usually 10 to 12
cents per direct deposit with a minimum of $40.00 to $45.00.
Method 2
- Canadian Payroll Systems has made arrangements with the Royal Bank
of Canada (other banks to follow) to accept funds from Canadian Payroll
Systems on behalf of their customers. You (the customer) will apply
(through use) to the Royal Bank for acceptance of this type of payment.
Once approved, you will be given authorization ID's etc. which you will
forward to Canadian Payroll Systems. We will insert these codes and
send the EFT file to the Royal Bank on your behalf.
Note: Canadian
Payroll Systems does not take any liability for handling of the funds.
The transaction is strickly between you (the customer) and the Royal
Bank. The Royal Bank charges a fee for this service to Canadian Payroll
Systems which will be passed on to you (the customer). There is no minimum
charge for this service.
Q: How many days
before pay date do I have to have my payroll complete?
A: With eNETPayroll
you can complete your payroll whenever you desire, even on pay day. If
you are using the electronic funds option then the bank will need your
EFT file 3 days before pay day.
Q: Who can access
my payroll information?
A: Your payroll information
access is controlled by you.
Q: When can I access
my payroll?
A: You can access
your payroll 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.9
Q: What measures
are taken to secure my payroll information?
A: Click
Here to go to our Security page which explains in detail, the
security measures that have been put in force to ensure the integrity
and privacy of your valuable data.
Q: How do I sign
up?
