What's New? Aug 4, 2010 - We've updated our code signing certificate. Code signing is the process of digitally signing software to confirm and guarantee that the code has not been changed or corrupted. The reason we updated it is simply because the certificate needs to be renewed from time to time. You may notice the first time you load the login page that a security question pops up and asks if you want to trust the content from Canadian Payroll Systems. Just click the 'Always Trust' checkbox and click 'Run' or 'Ok'. July 22, 2010 - Summer is zooming past us and will be gone before we know it. It's time to take advantage of eNETPayroll and work from the park, backyard, beach or cottage. An update to the accumulator calculation has been implemented. It came to light that when disabling an accumulator and running a calculation the accumulator balances were not being carried forward. This has now been fixed. On a related note, if you're calculating a bonus calculation run it is not necessary to 'disable' an accumulator if the earning you're calculating is not selected in the accumulator function. June 15, 2010 - Updates for July 1st payroll deduction formula changes have been implemented. Newfoundland and Labrador has some changes to the provincial income tax rates. Reducing the second and third personal income tax brackets from 12.8% to 12.5% and 15.5% to 13.3% respectively. Nova Scotia has had a fifth tax bracket added. Taxable income between $93,000 and $150,000 will now be taxed at 21%. Since employees in this bracket have been taxed at 17.5% for the first six months of the year, they will be taxed at 24.5% for the remaining six months. Apr. 8, 2010 - Spring has sprung! It's time for new beginnings, so why not check out The Payroll News. It a monthly newsletter that offers a great information about upcoming payroll events and regulation changes. You can view it online or signup and have it delivered right to your inbox. Dec. 18, 2009 - Are you ready for the holidays and the new year? eNETPayroll's ready. Updated tax calculation formulas are now available. As always Federal and Provincial claim amounts that are at the basic amount will be updated to the new basic amounts. Any amounts other than basic should be updated manually. Included in the new release is the T4 export which can be upload in the CRA's T4 Web Forms program. Companies with more than 50 T4's are now required to use this paperless option. To take advantage of this "green" option simply choose "Export XML File" from the "Printer/Output" dropdown in the Print T4s/T4As screen. Then login to your T4 Web Forms account and upload this file. Oct. 5, 2009 - Reporting just got faster! eNETPayrolls reporting has been optimized to decrease the delay in viewing and printing reports dramatically. Oct. 4, 2009 - When pay statements eNETPayroll now, by default, does not print statements of active employees with no current pay activity. Similarly cheques by default are not printed if they have a no amount. June 17, 2009 - eNETPayroll has been updated with Canada Revenue's legislation changes for July 1st. These changes will take effect when a payroll with a pay date on or after July 1st, is calculated. June 1, 2009 - Canada Revenue Agency has released a draft of their updates effective July 1st, 2009.
